OVERVIEW
The Oyster 70 originates from the successful Oyster 68, with many new features added to the well proven sea keeping, performance and layout possibilities. Four of the Oyster 70s were built between 1996 and 1999.
The lengthened hull and completely re-styled deck moulding provides a larger sunbathing area on the aft deck and allows for a larger lazarette locker, which can include a hydraulically extendable passerelle. The cockpit has been lowered in the hull which gives the possibility for lower coamings whilst keeping the protected environment and giving a sleeker appearance.
There are two rigs. One is the sporty version of a fully battened mainsail giving 14% more sail area or, for easy handling, the other option is a rig with hydraulically operated in-mast furling.
