Handcrafted with pride

No two Oysters are the same. Each of our yachts is designed and handcrafted using time-honoured skills, insights and learnings gained over 48 years from a loyal group of visionaries including owners, staff, sales team and project managers. Working with an obsessive attention to detail and the finest materials, our craftspeople know how to translate your vision into a yacht that is an Oyster through and through but is also unique to you.

@

An obsession for detail

All our yachts are built with a meticulous attention to detail. Every aspect of the build undergoes exacting scrutiny throughout the build process. The hull and deck are Lloyd’s Register certified for strength and integrity. We have only one rule when it comes to quality – if the smallest detail is not perfect, it doesn’t leave the workshop.

@

Time-honoured crafts

We are a British boatbuilder with an enduring heritage spanning over 47 years. Our yards have been in operation for over 100 years, each individually renowned as part of a local boatbuilding tradition. Time-honoured trades and experience are passed down through generations, from one master to the next apprentice. Our craftspeople are life-long boatbuilders who share our deep pride in bringing our yachts to life.

@

Safety as standard

Oysters are specified well-beyond the normal requirements you would expect in a bluewater cruiser. The Lloyd’s Register-certified single skin hull is extremely robust, affording you the peace of mind that your 885 can easily handle any conditions – from extreme cold to tropical heat or heavy weather.

@

Oyster quality guaranteed

The combined skills of all our experts contribute to your Oyster’s exceptional quality. They bring pride and passion to the build, which is inherent in the quality and finish of everything you touch and see. When you take ownership of your 885, you know she has been built with the upmost care.

The Oyster 885GT

The new Oyster 885GT combines sophisticated blue water performance with the luxury, comfort and safety for which Oyster is world-renowned. Inspired by the Grand Tourer automobiles of the 1950s which were designed for fast, effortless driving over long distances, combining true luxury with exceptional performance capability. This was our inspiration when asked by a long-time Oyster owner with the desire to take the outstanding performance of the Oyster 885 and optimise it for even faster passage making. The result is the Oyster 885GT – a Grand Tourer for the ocean.

Intelligent design, outstanding performance

Every aspect of performance has been considered to create a lighter boat with reduced displacement to enhance performance. These remarkable bluewater cruisers are true Grand Tourers with optimised performance and luxury all in one.

Many elements of the design have been honed and finessed to offer an even more exhilarating sailing experience. Her taller carbon rig, upgraded winches, optimised sail wardrobe, carbon standing rigging and deeper T-Keel all inform her enhanced performance.

Every ounce counts. A T-Keel and lighter carbon elements are used throughout to give the GT rewarding agility and turn of speed on the open ocean.

Like any true Grand Tourer, luxury and styling is at the heart of the 885GT. She is easily identified by the striking grey or white GT colour schemes. Or select your own favourite colours. Whichever scheme you choose, she will also feature signature GT red rudders and keel.

Performance-enhancing specification

Our designers have focused on the details that make all the difference. The result is a yacht that is more than the sum of its parts, highly-tuned to perform.

@

Mast, rigging and bowsprit

Carbon Hall Spars with a 4-spreader taller mast feature SCR rigging and Park Avenue V-boom. Her carbon rigging is 50% stronger and 70% lighter. A taller rig allows for 5% more upwind sail area and 15% more downwind sail area is achieved from the extended bowsprit.

@

Sail wardrobe

Specified with optimised North 3Di Ocean sail package with 780 Main and Headsail. This innovative, stronger and lighter composite construction is tough enough to handle multiple circumnavigations. Regatta upgrade Technora ropes for improved heat resistance and better sheet control when you need it.

@

High-spec hardware

Fast and sleek, and finished in anodised black, the deck-mounted halyard winches have been upgraded to 88/3 speed.

@

State-of-the-art instruments
