Having started sailing on the east coast from an early age, Richard progressed from racing dinghies and keelboats into ocean sailing, and can now often be found assisting our owners at various regattas and events around the world. Having worked within various sectors of the marine industry since leaving university, Richard has a background of yachting experience that greatly assists his ability to guide clients with credible knowledge and advice.
Stephen joined Oyster in 2002 following a career in finance. Initially working in our After Sales department, he then progressed into Project Management before joining the Sales team in 2013. A keen sailor with over 30,000 miles under his belt, Stephen has a wealth of Oyster knowledge and his passion and enthusiasm make him a key member of the new boat Sales team. Stephen also enjoys family life with two young daughters.
Dan joined Oyster’s Newport office in 2011 following a career with a leading international brokerage. Prior to coming ashore he held various positions aboard, starting in 2003 and culminating with his captaincy of S/Y Argo, a 110’ Langan Design Schooner. While at sea, Dan completed crossings of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, and accumulated over 50,000 miles of blue-water cruising experience, including extensive landfalls and oversight of several major refits. Dan is married with a young son and resides in Jamestown, Rhode Island.
Bitten by the sailing bug when he was 10 years old, Michael has since spent as much time on the water as possible. His expertise is founded on hundreds of thousands of nautical miles, covered on many world-wide regattas. These include 12 Sydney to Hobarts (one of the toughest yacht races in the world) and the Fastnet twice. He has also taken part in the America’s Cup and Admiral’s Cup, crossed the Atlantic and cruised widely in the Pacific Ocean. Michael has worked in the USA and Australia as a yacht builder and has also created masts and riggings for yachts around the globe. Based in Sydney, Australia, he has worked in luxury boat sales for over 20 years. Michael is married with four children.
Jamie joined Oyster Brokerage having run a well established brokerage office in Palma for four years. Having worked in the Marine trade since he was 18, Jamie has raced all over the world competing in the Admirals Cup to winning Key West Race Week. More recently sailing on the Superyacht Cup circuit where the racing is of a more leisurely style. Other than racing he has acquired an in-depth knowledge of sailing yachts, sails and hardware from working with some of the best in the industry.
Nephew of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, to whom he owes his early sailing experience, Rupert first joined Oyster Brokerage in 2001. He previously worked in sales for Prout Catamarans and prior to that as a skipper and instructor for Sunsail both in the UK and the Mediterranean, following university. A former offshore multihull racer, Rupert is now more interested in family cruising.
Molly Marston began her yachting career as crew aboard charter yachts for 10 years giving her useful insight into the industry. In 1996 she joined Oyster, being instrumental in the development of the Newport Oyster office from its startup. In 2004 Molly implemented the charter division for Oyster and currently manages the company world-wide from her Newport base. With attention to detail Molly ensures all aspects of a charter are handled with the utmost care. Molly is passionate about sailing and takes pride ensuring all guests experience the thrill of sailing on an Oyster.
A highly experienced team who are passionate about all things Oyster. The team collectively have decades of experience in supporting Oyster owners. Comprising a team of boat builders, Oyster World Rally participants, keen sailors and racers - Dee, Kate, Rachel, Leah are supported by Eddie Scougall. Eddie is the Oyster technical guru, having worked for Oyster for over 19 years, he has circumnavigated the world and has extensive sailing experience. His comprehensive knowledge of the boats is an essential support to the After Sales team. His favourite sailing area is the Antarctic.
Allie raced around the world and upwind through the Southern Ocean and has sailed over 50,000 miles. She is now on a much calmer route as Head of Group Events at Oyster Yachts. Allie has over 25 years’ experience working in Operations and Logistics in the sailing industry and has worked alongside some to the UK's top sailors and yachting greats. She has managed events worldwide and been involved in some of the most prestigious international yacht races both personally and professionally. She also ran her own RYA Sailing School for 13 years teaching novices to sail and race. Allie is super excited to lead the Oyster World Rally team and support the dreams of those taking part in the Oyster World Rally 2022-23.
Millie grew up sailing dinghies on the East Coast of England before going on to compete at numerous national and international championships. After graduating from university, she spent three years crewing Oyster Yachts professionally, which took her all over the world, including the magical Pacific Ocean with the 2017-19 Oyster World Rally. Millie is now shore based, having spent the past two years working with Oyster's Events team, helping to create unique and memorable experiences for everyone involved.
Richard is a successful British entrepreneur. In 2006 he founded Evolution Gaming, the leading gaming software business, which he subsequently floated on the Swedish Stock Exchange with a Market Cap of £2 Billion. Evolution employs over 5000 people across 10 countries. Richard has been enjoying sailing Oysters for the past 5 years. Richard brings an exciting vision for the future of Oyster Yachts and is committed to Oyster for the Long Term.
Becky has broad experience and deep expertise in the marine industry. A dynamic and capable leader, she joined Oyster following a successful career at PwC. As a chartered accountant and key member of PwC's Deals team, she advised a number of companies through a range of transactions. Her experience spans everything from family-owned businesses to FTSE listed companies. Her understanding of manufacturing operations is invaluable, as is her knowledge of other luxury yacht builders, gained while leading reviews of Sunseeker and Palmer Johnson, as well as helping the RNLI to bring in-house its composite lifeboat construction capability. Based in Southampton, it should come as no surprise that, when she is not at the helm of Oyster, Becky is an avid sailor.
With a mix of Oyster knowledge and business, Paul brings a unique combination of skills to our team in the areas of sales, marketing & outstanding customer service. A former professional sailor, Paul has a wealth of Oyster yachting knowledge both as a skipper and a consultant for Oyster owners. He has been the client representative during the build of various Oysters, including Oyster 885-01 which he skippered in the inaugural Oyster World Rally. He also consults and advises private clients on Super Yacht acquisitions along with yacht management.
The leadership skills that Paul developed whilst managing yachts and consulting led him into the business world. Previously Paul has worked with business leaders and sales teams to fulfil their potential by either keynote speaking or by developing in-house cultural change and performance programmes. Paul brings an abundance of energy, passion and enthusiasm to the team and is dedicated to rebuilding Oyster for the long term.
Steve has enjoyed boating from a very early age and came into the Marine Industry in the early 90`s following premature retirement after 18 years as a Firefighter. Initially with Splashdown Marine Clothing and Simpson-Lawrence, he joined Hunton Powerboats in 1998 as installation engineer, becoming General Manager in 2002. Joining the Oyster Service & Refit Department in 2011, he has been responsible for a number of major refit projects across the Oyster range both in the Southampton yard and overseas. Steve joined the Palma team as Service Manager as of the 1st August 2017.
Will grew up in Bristol, Rhode Island and from a young age spent every free moment out on the water. Later he worked his way up from deckhand to engineer and finally captain. After running an Oyster 56 for Oyster’s founder, Richard Matthews, Will joined our USA office in Newport, Rhode Island, and has spent the last 17 years helping our US based owners with their commissioning and customer service enquiries.
Mark Durham joined the Oyster team after working as a Yacht Captain for 12 years. In addition to over 100,000 sea-miles, including the Southern Ocean and Antarctica, he brings with him the experience of having sailed and run a number of private and charter yachts worldwide. Mark ensures the satisfaction of both owners and crew as Operations Manager in Palma de Mallorca.
Charlie first met Oyster in 2002 as crew on an adventurous world-cruising Oyster 66 alongside husband Mark. Several years working on Med-Caribbean luxury charter sailing yachts gave her a rounded insight into the luxury yachting and crewing industry. She now runs the Oyster Crew service helping both Oyster Owners and potential crew candidates in their search for crew or employment on Oyster yachts.
