If so, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to manage our closely knit Finance team in an interim capacity as well as mock in to support them when needed.

The Contract:

Fixed Term 9 Month Contract, Full time – 40 hours per week

Based in Southampton

The Role:

The interim Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the Group finance team; ensuring daily, weekly and monthly tasks are undertaken on time and to a high quality and producing monthly management accounts for the Group.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Completion of month end journals – prepayments, accruals, payroll, posting corrections
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Production of monthly management accounts pack, providing commentary on variances to budget
  • Intercompany recharges & reconciliations
  • Analyse, review and interrogate general ledger balances
  • Perform VAT returns, EC sales lists & Intrastat reporting
  • Manage the fixed asset register and posting depreciation & amortisation
  • Setting month end deadlines for the finance team

The Person:

Essential

  • Strong communication skills
  • Hard working team player
  • Proactive and agile problem solver
  • Part or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Upper intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience within a similar role for at least 3 years
  • Experience in managing a team across multiple sites

Desirable

  • Knowledge of marine industry
  • Experience of using Microsoft Navision
