Elegantly-built from stem to stern the Oyster 495 is an Oyster through and through. She is designed to offer a stunning combination of performance, comfort and style, with seamanlike qualities in equal measure. Built by some of Britain’s finest craftsmen, she combines modern styling, creative detailing and a host of practical seamanlike features not normally seen in a 50 foot yacht for sale. By refining proven design concepts, this 50 foot sailboat promises exceptional performance while being comfortable and easy to handle for a family crew. Hosting a dinner party for friends, exploring coastal waters, crossing oceans or even circumnavigating the globe, no other 50 foot yacht offers such limitless potential.
The latest collaboration between Humphreys Yacht Design and Oyster’s own in-house design studio, the new Oyster 495 has clean hull lines and carries her beam well aft, which contributes to form stability and sailing performance. This 50 foot sailboat features the same twin rudder configurations found on our larger yachts. She is light and easy on the steering, offering fingertip control in even the most boisterous conditions. Add a range of technology to make shorthanded sailing even easier, including in-mast furling and push-button B&G sail handling controls operated from the helm positions, she will be a joy to sail. All these elements combined she will be responsive and fast-moving, with an ability to offer consistently high speeds for excellent passage-making.

The wider beam offers excellent returns in space above and below decks, unexpected on any other 50 foot yacht for sale. Chief amongst these is the truly impressive owners’ cabin, with signature triple Oyster Seascape windows that create an amazing feeling of light and space. Like all Oysters, she features a beautifully styled centre cockpit and deck saloon, with a flush foredeck. It offers outstanding light and ventilation to the centre of the boat, making the saloon feel bright and spacious. The deck saloon windows have been extended aft, emphasising the Oyster ‘snarl’ and flooding more light into the navigation and galley areas. On deck, the transom houses a powered boarding/bathing platform, which is pushbutton-operated from the deck. The flat deck at the stern and flush foredeck offer plenty of space for comfortable sunbathing.
The Oyster 495 displays all the hallmark Oyster design cues you know and love. Like our larger models, she is designed and engineered far beyond what you would expect from an ordinary 50 foot yacht.
Like all our yachts, the new Oyster 495 is handcrafted by master craftspeople with a meticulous attention to detail. The pride and passion that goes into our yachts mean they have soul. This intangible results from the combination of design, technology, engineering and handcrafted build quality. It is also down to the insights and learning from over 48 years of designing and building them.
No other 50 foot sailboat for sale offers such a wide range of innovative automated sailing technology which guarantees she can be handled by two with ease. The deck layout is designed to be simple and efficient with everything you need to sail her in easy reach. The non-overlapping rig allows for wide spreaders and chainplates outboard at the deck edge to minimise rigging loads. It also makes the yacht easy to tack and the inboard jib sheet leads are positioned to optimise upwind sailing angles.
We were the first boat builders to create truly ergonomically designed cockpit and helm positions. These details have been further refined on this 50 foot yacht. The cockpit table is another triumph of Oyster design thinking, with a central section designed to fit an on-deck drinks/wine locker. With the leaves folded out, it comfortably seats six to eight people for alfresco dining.
