Accounts Assistant


The Accounts Assistant will report to the Group Financial Accountant, who is based at Southampton. This position is based at Southampton and will be responsible for the day to day accounts tasks.

Principle Job Responsibilities

Processing supplier invoices, posting timesheets.


General Requirements of the Role

  • Posting purchase invoices
  • Dealing with supplier’s queries on an as needs basis
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Posting weekly timesheets
  • Journal posting
  • To be a valued member of the Finance team and undertake any other duties that may assist the finance department, Oyster Yachts or the Oyster Group

The Person


  • Previous experience working in a finance role
  • Working towards/completed an accounting qualification
  • High level of numeracy
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience of computerized accounting packages
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to generate good working relationships with wider finance team members working in other locations
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work as a team and under pressure
  • Understanding the importance of month end and year end


  • Experience within the marine sector
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Navision
