If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a detail orientated and analytical individual to work as an Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts team in Southampton.

General Requirements of the Role

  • Posting purchase invoices and expenses
  • Dealing with supplier’s queries on an as needs basis and reconciling supplier statements
  • Cash book postings and bank reconciliations
  • Process payment of supplier invoices
  • Raising sale invoices
  • Journal posting
  • To be a valued member of the Finance team and undertake any other duties that may assist the finance department, Oyster Yachts or the Oyster Group


The Person


  • Previous experience working in a finance role
  • Working towards/completed an accounting qualification
  • High level of numeracy
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience of computerized accounting packages
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to generate good working relationships with wider finance team members working in other locations
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work as a team and under pressure
  • Understanding the importance of month end and year end



  •  Experience within the marine sector
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Navision
