ENGLAND

Exploring England

A sailing charter in England offers a wide choice of sailing grounds with a wealth of excellent sailing. The country’s exceptional scenery lends itself perfectly to exploration by boat. Whether you are in the mood for pastoral splendour or busy cities, there is so much to see and do here. From rugged coastlines to iconic skylines, small islands to a wealth of rivers and canals, picturesque fishing villages and the heart of the Capital.

You can sail from the mouth of the Thames estuary into the heart of London. Get a front-row view of the iconic sites in this great city, including iconic buildings like the Shard and St Paul’s Cathedral. No trip would be complete without sailing beneath Tower Bridge or into St Katharine’s Dock in the Pool of London.

Halfway down the south coast, the Solent offers some of the most exciting sailing in the country – even for seasoned sailors. The constantly changing conditions make it a challenge you will remember for years to come. Look out for the famous Needles (a group of chalk stacks off the Isle of Wight). The Isle of Wight itself is a wonderful place to visit, with beautiful beaches and verdant rolling landscapes inland. The main town, Cowes, is home to the renowned Cowes Week regatta in August. The island’s sailing club runs its famous ‘Round the Island’ race in July, which regularly attracts over 1,400 boats from around the world.
