Winter 2020 - Oyster Update

Dear friends of Oyster,

I hope this update finds you safe and in good health.

We started 2020 with high hopes and, despite everything that has happened, happily many of those hopes have been realised. There is a real sense of carpe diem in the air and we have all become more agile, finding new ways to do the things we have always taken for granted. Thankfully, there was some respite with a summer of sailing – at times, being onboard Lush felt like the safest place to be!

The pandemic has driven change throughout Oyster and we have been fortunate to come through in great shape. With full build bays and a full order book, we are going from strength to strength. I know our world class After Sales and Service teams have been continuing to advise and support with provisions for your adventures. The call of the sea continues to be strong.

We are investing in our production facilities and shipyards, whilst sustainably growing our team of master craftsmen and women to meet demand. In parallel, we continue to invest in apprenticeships to ensure we sustain time-honoured crafts in British boat building.

Our new models have inspired huge demand. Sales of both new and brokerage yachts have been strong.

On top of this, we have followed through on our commitment to invest in new models. We are building the first 885GT in collaboration with one of our owners (read more here) and in this update we have announced the much anticipated new Oyster 495 that will set a new benchmark for the 50 foot yacht market. More on this remarkable yacht here

Thank you for your on-going interest and support. We have big plans for 2021 and rest assured, we will continue to adapt to overcome the challenges in true Oyster spirit.

Fair Winds.
