Overwhelming demand for luxury adventure on the high seas

Oyster Yachts, thoroughbred British luxury yacht builder and pioneer of fully supported luxury long-haul sailing adventures, announces the opening of entries for the Oyster World Rally 2028-29 to unprecedented demand.

Entries opened on 18 June for the Oyster World Rally 2028-29, a luxury circumnavigation of the world visiting more than 27 remote and beautiful destinations. With limited places for this unique, fully supported luxury sailing adventure, Oyster Yachts experienced overwhelming interest in the first 24 hours.

Allie Smith, Director of the Oyster World Rally, commented: “The popularity of the Oyster World Rally has accelerated significantly. The Oyster World Rally 2026-27 is already full, with a lengthy waiting list, showcasing its appeal among adventurers and sailors alike. The introduction of tailored Rally packages has made the event even more accessible and appealing to sailors embarking on this unique adventure of lifetime.”

The Oyster World Rally is the ultimate luxury circumnavigation. Exclusively for Oyster owners, the event is open for up to 30 Oyster bluewater sailing yachts, supported by Oyster's world class Rally team, who provide logistics, concierge and technical support around the clock. The 16-month voyage covers 27,000 nautical miles, visiting 27 breathtaking destinations.

Prospective entrants can now choose from three tailored packages which meet every requirement, from the experienced sailor to luxury explorers seeking the ultimate adventure. The Adventurer, Explorer and Voyager Packages range from essential Rally entry to fully personalised luxury concierge experiences.

The Adventurer package comes as standard for anyone taking part and provides local insight and support throughout the Rally. Practical matters are taken care of too: technical support, maintenance, berthing arrangements, crew fees, Immigration/Customs, through to daily weather updates and more. For those opting for next level, the Explorer package takes care of every requirement with personalised tailored activities and experiences, to unique dinner reservations and amazing parties through to seamless logistics for your guests joining for a Rally passage. The ultimate Voyager package offers a turnkey solution, everything within the Adventurer and Explorer package is included – plus the building of a new Oyster yacht customised to your specification, crew to sail and manage her, and comprehensive adventure planning by Oyster's concierge service. This leaves participants to sit back and enjoy this 16-month adventure of a lifetime.

Over half of the Oyster yachts participating in recent Oyster World rallies are new build, many for owners also new to the Oyster brand. Other entrants can take advantage of a Rally-ready Oyster available with Oyster Brokerage or may already own their vessel. With over a thousand Oyster owners, entries for this adventure of a lifetime are likely to be in high demand. For more information, request an Information Pack by contacting [email protected].

Richard Gibson, Oyster Sales Director, commented: “2028 might seem a long way off, but for those planning to build a new Oyster for the Rally, available build slots are already out to mid-late 2026. With limited production, and new builds taking one to two years depending on model size, we recommend a four-year lead time. This allows time for a shakedown time to familiarise yourself with the yacht, a full training schedule with the Oyster World Rally experts and repositioning to Antigua ready for the Rally start in 2028. Lead times can be shorter for those buying a brokerage yacht, but we recommend factoring in at least three years to familiarise, update and personalise your yacht for a circumnavigation. By the time you’ve reached the start line, you’ll be amazed at how quickly time has passed to prepare for this two-year adventure.”

Experience the Oyster World Rally 2024-25 live, as the fleet fast approaches the halfway point of their amazing circumnavigation. After stopovers in the stunning waters of French Polynesia, including visits to The Tuamotus, Tahiti and Bora Bora, they now venture into the waters of Tonga and Vanuatu before heading to the east coast of Australia to celebrate the halfway point. Follow the current Oyster World Rally fleet.
