The world-renowned Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) departs from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria in November 2024
A vibrant social and shore activity programme in Las Palmas provides the opportunity to join in with the build-up to the event with other participants, meet fellow members of the Oyster Family, as well as other like-minded sailors and soak up the atmosphere.
Preparing to sail across the Atlantic is a massive feat, with extreme responsibility placed upon owners and crew to ensure their yacht is ready before departure. While preparing for the crossing in Las Palmas, Oyster owners joining the ARC and ARC+ can take advantage of our excellent support system, delivered by the Technical Support Team on the ground.
The team is made up of Oyster experts, skippers and experienced sailors, who provide complimentary health checks and passage advice to the Oyster Family. They’re well-equipped to help owners with all aspects of their yachts, including engineering, systems and rigging, and ensure that each yacht is fully prepared and at peak operating performance before setting off on the 2700 nautical mile crossing.
The Atlantic crossing takes approximately three weeks, but time at sea is dependent on the fickle Tradewinds and some skippers claim to have completed the race in as little as 16 days. The ARC finishes on the stunning Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia, where participants are warmly welcomed into a tropical paradise renowned for its pristine white beaches, volcanoes and luxury resorts.
