Aquaries is one of our most recent Oyster 495s, launched in March 2025.

Winner of European Yacht of the Year 2023, the Oyster 495 is a true liveaboard bluewater cruiser, equipped to take you anywhere in luxury, comfort and safety. Every inch an Oyster, she incorporates many of our big yacht features in a compact 50 foot yacht, from signature triple seascape windows to generous entertaining and sunbathing spaces.

FEATURES

Make yourself comfortable

Aquaries features new generation luxury interiors, with beautiful cool oak joinery throughout.

Stepping down into the spacious and light saloon feels like home, with wraparound windows ensuring excellent natural ventilation. Deep, comfortable sofas and a multi-function table that can be converted into a daybed complement the saloon.

The full width aft master cabin features a luxurious centre line double bed and ensuite heads and shower room. It is completed by Oyster’s signature triple Seascape windows, creating a feeling of light and space, with exceptional ocean views. The forward cabin is equally luxurious, with plenty of space for guests to relax and recharge. For the crew, there is a discrete bunk room tucked away between the saloon and forward cabin.

Meet the crew

Captain

Nathan

Nathan spent his childhood sailing, spearfishing and surfing on South Africa’s east coast. Every family holiday was spent attending regattas and today his family still races a South African built keelboat.

After spending some time working and studying various engineering based trades, in 2023 he moved to Greece to work on charter yachts. During his time as flotilla skipper, engineer and private tuition skipper he met Alex. They’ve worked, travelled and lived together ever since as a couple. In 2025, they moved to their first Oyster 495 and covered a few thousand miles across the Balearics and Sardinia. When he’s not sailing he’ll be conjuring up the next opportunity for a braai or exploring the lo…

Alex took the plunge and left London’s corporate world behind in 2024 to pursue bluer pastures. After moving to Greece to gain more sailing experience at a charter company, she met Nathan only a few days in.

Following a busy season in Greece, she travelled to the Caribbean to gain some racing experience and obtained her YM Coastal. Having always loved to host, it’s a natural extension for her to provide good food, comfort and a smile whilst at sea. When they’re not sailing, Alex loves to draw and write about their time onboard, with her articles published in popular sailing magazines.
