INTRODUCING

Cape Town

With the magnificent Table Mountain rising high above, this beautiful city offers everything your heart could desire, from whale-watching to wine-tasting.

One of South Africa’s most important cities – it is known as the Mother City – it was the landing point for the first European colonists, with the arrival of the Dutch in 1652. The city is a mix of colonial and contemporary architecture, with an energetic, innovative spirit, and vibrant food, arts and cultural scenes. Table Mountain is host to some 1,470 floral species, making it a naturalist’s dream destination. There is so much to do, you can easily pass weeks here exploring the city and surrounding area. If you’re here for New Year, the best celebrations happen on 2nd of January. The city centre hosts a huge street party for Tweede Nuwe Jaar (Second New Year) with hundreds of performers in brightly-coloured costumes, crazy face-paint and extravagant hats and parasols.
