Oyster Yachts, builder of the world’s finest bluewater yachts, proudly unveiled their latest innovation, the Oyster P60, today at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Entering a new market, the Oyster P60 brings the brand’s bluewater philosophy to luxury power catamarans, combining long-range capability with expansive living spaces and the reassurance of Oyster ownership.
Designed in partnership with French naval architecture studio Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, the 60 foot P60 is purpose-designed for long-distance cruising, with a target range of up to 3,500 nautical miles.
Combining the space and stability of a luxury power catamaran with the engineering and ownership support for which Oyster is renowned, the P60 offers owners a new way to experience bluewater exploration under power.
Boasting sufficient range to cover the Oyster World Rally’s longest passage, approximately 3,000 nautical miles from the Galápagos to the Marquesas, the P60 is built for owners who want the freedom to travel further, stay longer and explore beyond conventional power-yacht cruising grounds.
The launch follows a significant period of expansion for Oyster. In September, the company announced its entry into the sailing catamaran market with the bluewater-capable Oyster C60 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, before revealing its new 36-metre flagship, the Oyster 36M, at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Together, the C60, 36M and P60 represent three distinct expressions of the same ambition: to bring Oyster’s approach to bluewater freedom, confidence and supported ownership to a broader range of yachts and owners, while reinforcing its position at the pinnacle of luxury bluewater yachting.
The P60 combines more than 50 years of Oyster’s experience in bluewater yacht ownership, engineering and craftsmanship with Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design’s more than 35 years of expertise in large multihulls.
Designed to appeal to both experienced power-yacht owners and those moving up to a larger yacht, she also offers an alternative for seasoned sailors who want to continue undertaking serious passages without making sail handling part of everyday life aboard.
Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts, said: “The P60 signals a major development in Oyster’s approach to bluewater yachting. It is the first time we have brought Oyster’s bluewater philosophy to a purpose-designed luxury power catamaran. The P60 is for owners who want the freedom to undertake long powered passages and expeditions aboard a spacious, luxury catamaran imbued with the safety and engineering those ambitions demand.”
“While our sailing yachts remain central to that future, the P60 power catamaran builds on our extensive experience and authority as well as a long history of Oyster owner experiences at sea,” he said. “Just as importantly, P60 owners will have access to the entire Oyster owner ecosystem, from delivery and commissioning to training, after-sales support, and our global owner community events, including the Oyster World Rally. We look forward to welcoming P60 owners into the Oyster family.”
Built with powered passage making in mind, the P60 has a target range of up to 3,500 nautical miles. Her slender hulls, 6,000 litre fuel capacity and 1,000 litres of fresh water support extended periods away from shore, while a generous galley, refrigeration and freezer capacity make stays aboard practical and comfortable.
With 121 square metres of social living space distributed across the flybridge, aft cockpit, saloon and forward cockpit, the P60 places onboard life at the centre of her design.
A 9.35-metre beam creates a broad, stable platform, while the overall layout is intended to deliver the sense of space normally associated with a much larger monohull. A bridgedeck clearance of 1.00 metre at half load is designed to help reduce wave slamming underway.
Inside, a light-filled saloon forms the social heart of the yacht, connecting the main living spaces with the surrounding seascape. Below deck, an 18-square-metre owner’s suite occupies the centre of the accommodation arrangement, with private access to the aft deck.
Two or three guest cabins can be specified, alongside a choice of galley-up or galley-down layouts and provision for crew accommodation. The flexibility is intended to suit everything from extended family cruising to longer periods aboard with additional guests.
The new 33-square-metre flybridge is a defining feature. A central helm station sits alongside a bar, lounge seating and an elevated forward daybed beneath a new hardtop, creating a space designed as much for relaxing and entertaining as for navigation. This arrangement allows the owner to remain connected with family and guests while at the helm, bringing a more sociable dimension to time underway.
Aft, the 40-square-metre cockpit is designed to adapt throughout the day. It can serve as a shaded dining and entertaining area, convert into a sea-facing sunpad or be configured for fishing and watersports. A hydraulic tender platform doubles as a swim platform, providing direct access to the water and extending the yacht’s versatility at anchor.
For Oyster, the P60 is about more than introducing a new hull form. Owners of the Oyster P60 will have access to the renowned ownership ecosystem, extending from the build process, delivery and commissioning to training, ongoing technical support and a global community of fellow owners.
Through the Oyster Bluewater Academy, owners can access tailored training to help build their confidence and skills. Oyster’s After Sales team and Global Service Network provide ongoing support, while the Oyster Explorers Club, Regattas and international owner events offer opportunities to connect with the wider Oyster community.
The P60 therefore marks more than Oyster’s entry into a new segment. It extends the company’s bluewater philosophy to a different style of cruising, offering the space and lifestyle of a luxury power catamaran alongside the range, engineering and ownership support needed to go further.
For Oyster, the ambition remains the same: to give owners the confidence and freedom to explore the world on their own terms.
