The new carbon hardtop solar bimini redefines Oyster Yachts’ renowned protected cockpit and helms position. The sleek structure offers permanent protection for guests and helmsman from the sun and elements, whilst harnessing solar energy to charge lithium-ion batteries, enhancing silent running performance.
Inspired by Adrian Newey during the creation of his Oyster 885, and building on advancements made by Oyster owners like Trevor Hill, the bimini seamlessly blends Oyster’s iconic style with cutting-edge practicality. It offers a pragmatic solution for shielding harmful solar rays, while generating energy from natural sources. Available on new Oyster 745 and 885 builds and compatible to retrofit.
Transformed entertaining space
Whether socialising, dining alfresco or just relaxing, the hardtop bimini transforms the spacious cockpit and twin helms position into a versatile space for any occasion, whether on passage or at anchor. Complete lighting solutions, existing sprayhood integration and optional side skirts further elevate this much-loved hub at the heart of an Oyster.
Natural power generation
The bimini top features built in recessed solar panels, generating an impressive 3.5kw of power. This sustainable energy source provides a permanent solution to enhanced silent running performance.
Durability and performance
Constructed from lightweight carbon and seamlessly anchored at key structural fixing points, the hardtop bimini offers a robust solution for the most demanding environments. A unique glass screen, with built-in UV filters above the helm stations, provides clear visibility of the mainsail and can be upgraded to LCD smart glass, for complete sun blackout when desired.
Customised solutions
The bimini design can be customised to a range of requirements, from bespoke lighting, colour and finish, to optional side skirts for cockpit enclosure. In addition, choose a fixed glass screen in place of a standard sprayhood and a canvas connection which fixes to the screen, providing complete protection from the elements.
