Oyster’s first yacht designed solely for cruising, the 39 is a high volume, centre cockpit ketch, with a comfortable owner’s stateroom aft. She is extremely popular due to her class leading accommodation space, which is remarkable for a yacht of this size. One of the best known examples, 'Morningtown', was a radio relay vessel throughout the 1979 Fastnet storm and stayed at sea, without incident, in some of the UK's most severe weather. We launched forty-three of these Holman and Pye designs between 1978 and 1984.
