When Oyster decided to produce a motor yacht design in the mid-2000s, it was done with the ambition of appealing to our existing discerning customer base, and the resulting LD43 and later OM43 are beautiful looking yachts, characterised by their classic profile, dark blue hull and with a sweeping sheer line. Her twin engines were, unusually linked to twin waterjets providing very shallow draft and the ability to control the boat at low speed with one’s fingertips, using either a joystick or mouse.
The LD43 (or Lunch and Dinner – the boat was designed as a step up from rivals’ picnic boats) has a simple layout with a double cabin, galley, head/shower low in the hull, with two sofas and captain’s and mate’s seats in the upper saloon. The OM43 had the same hull deck and powertrain, but differed in that she had two cabins, sleeping four in total, and moved the galley up into the raised saloon. As well as doubling the number of cabins available the raised galley meant that the cook or chef had better views!
Cora is one of only four OM43s launched, she was built on behalf of Oyster by the famous Broom yard in Norfolk and has been in the same ownership from new. Meticulously maintained by an involved and knowledgeable owner, Cora has less than 750 hours on her twin Cummins diesels. The owner has declared that she is VAT paid in the UK.
Cora is a wonderful example of the OM43, a beautiful and practical motor yacht that stands out from the crowd. She is offered for sale afloat in Ipswich, and early viewings are encouraged.
