Oyster Yachts reveals 24m "superyacht-inspired" sailing yacht model

BY DEA JUSUFI

British brand Oyster Yachts has expanded its portfolio with a 24-metre sailing yacht model known as the Oyster 805.

A bluewater cruiser, the Oyster 805 is the smaller sibling to the Oyster 885 Series II (at 27.4 metres) and is said to be "superyacht-inspired" in its level of customisation. Owners can expand the owner's area by converting one of the four cabins into a home gym, private library, snug lounge or dedicated office. A daybar configuration also offers greater flexibility in the main saloon, providing guests access to refreshments while maintaining separation from the galley.

British studio and long-standing partner Humphreys Yacht Design is behind the classic exterior, distinguished from earlier models by enlarged portrait windows that brighten the main saloon, master suite and guest cabins.

On deck, the sunken tender well can be transformed into an impromptu lounge (a feature borrowed from the Oyster 885) with an integrated daybed in the centre cockpit, protected by a fixed, solar-powered Starlight Bimini. This set-up is mirrored indoors with a saloon daybed, positioned by the windows for impressive ocean views. The interiors themselves are soft and airy, incorporating a mixture of light woods and white upholstery brightened by two decks' worth of windows.

Other noteworthy features include the yard's new "Wing Seats" – a small overhang attached to the cockpit coamings that offer a greater vantage point for the guests and skipper – and the twin-access bathing platform, which provides a launchpad for watersports as well as dock and tender access or a lounge while at anchor.

"The Oyster 805 is the yacht I dreamed of when I took the helm at Oyster. She’s striking, luxurious, and built to take you anywhere," explained Richard Hadida, shipyard owner and chairman. "I’m proud of what she represents - the next generation of Oyster."

Lloyd's certified, the Oyster 805 offers a choice of keel options – a standard keel (3.4 metres) or optional shoal keel (2.7 metres) – allowing her to reach remote anchorages as seen in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Other key specs include a 6.4-metre beam and a sail area of 345.8 square metres.
