The Oyster 80 can hit 10 knots sailing on a sixty degree reach in around 14 knots of wind, a very impressive light wind capability that hints at the greater speeds on offer in heavier wind conditions. While on passage from Hawaii to Alaska, Oyster 80#01 Free Spirit covered 1000 miles in four days in cruising trim.
