Introducing the new flagship of the Oyster range – the Oyster 1225 affectionately known as ARCHELON. This 37.65m sloop was launched in 2019 and combines vast volume, comfort and style boasting a master stateroom in the aft and 4 versatile twins with 2 Pullmans that can be converted to 4 doubles. From the helm stations to the steps down to the forward salon guests will discover a three-part combination of an al-fresco dining area, the upper level sofas and mid -level dining areas to provide varied and relaxing entertaining spaces.

Molly Marston began her yachting career as crew aboard charter yachts for 10 years giving her useful insight into the industry. In 1996 she joined Oyster, being instrumental in the development of the Newport Oyster office from its startup. In 2004 Molly implemented the charter division for Oyster and currently manages the company world-wide from her Newport base. With attention to detail Molly ensures all aspects of a charter are handled with the utmost care. Molly is passionate about sailing and takes pride ensuring all guests experience the thrill of sailing on an Oyster.

James Micklem

Captain

Captain James has over 10 years of experience in the yachting industry with seven of those years at the helm of Marine Oyster sailing yachts. He has cruised the Caribbean over 5 seasons which included the busy charter yacht S/Y OOFLEDUST, an Oyster 82. Took part in an extensive yacht racing program in the Mediterranean on S/Y MAEGAN then went on to create an expedition voyage to the Artic Circle with S/Y FIREBIRD to include a ski and sail element for the guests. James prides himself on his goal orientated attitude towards work and pushes the boundaries for the more avid sailors that embark. As one of the most recognised captain of Oyster yachts James was given the opportunity to work with ARCHELON since her build in 2018 and has strived to deliver an impeccable sailing yacht to her Owner in 2019. With his previous experience as a charter yacht captain he can tailor the trip to suit the guests whether stepping on board a sailing yacht for the 1st time or re experiencing the thrill of hoisting the main sail on a performance sailing yacht.

Oliver Essex

First Mate

Oliver started his maritime career in 2010 as a deck officer cadet at the Warsash Maritime Academy, he obtained a scholarship to study and gained the knowledge foundations for a successful career in yachting. He was 1 of 20 sailors hand selected to join the British keelboat academy and represent the UK in the International Commodores Cup. During his time at the academy he received training from a number of well decorated professional racing sailors. In 2012 Oliver gained a comprehensive understanding of Oyster yachts and was employed as the Senior Commissioning Skipper responsible for the handover of new build yachts. Oliver’s love for the sea moved his career forward as professional yacht crew and he worked his way up to first mate and relief captain of S/Y Firebird 885. Eager to take his career even further he joined ARCHELON and is working towards his Master 200GT Ticket.

Adam Butt

Engineer

Adam’s passion for engineering and being on the water started at a young age, he always wanted a career on the water and started his journey studying marine engineering, progressing on to a degree in yacht management. Since 2013 he has assisted in yacht deliveries including a transit of the Panama Canal, over the years he has worked his way up from deckhand on 38m S/Y CORTO MALTESE to engineer on 34m S/Y Mystery. With a wide variety of every growing maritime qualifications, guests can relax in the knowledge that ARCHELON’s enthusiastic and motivated Engineer will ensure smooth sailing. Adam has many passions including camping, hiking, classic cars and motocross.

Leandra Sewell

Leandra is committed to growing her knowledge , skills and experience as a maritime professional and after starting her career in 2018 she has already accrued a wide variety of qualifications in yacht interior management, such as guest food and service, floristry, wine pairing and mixology and a professional barista course. With a love for adventure and meeting new people guests will feel relaxed and attended to with Leandra’s welcoming personality. Deep sea diving, surfing, yoga and running are amongst many of Leandra’s hobbies.

Jessica Luyt

Stewardess

Although relatively new to the yachting industry Jessica has already shown her three years of experience as a waitress has given her the foundations to embark on a career with superyachts. Previously she was employed on 162m M/Y DUBAI where she received training as a barista and along with qualifications she obtained previously in wine/mixology, interior and food service Jessica is well equipped to ensure guests are attended to at all times.
