Oyster 595 Shortlisted For 2018 Bluewater Cruiser of the Year

We are delighted to announce that the Oyster 595, our beautiful blue water cruiser, has been shortlisted for the British Yachting Awards 2018 Bluewater Cruiser of the Year.

The awards, hosted by Sailing Today and Yachts and Yachting Magazine, review new yachting industry releases to highlight the best boats, kit, sailors, achievements, destinations and events of the past year. The 2018 Bluewater Cruiser of the Year accolade focuses on finding the best yacht for powerful offshore cruising. Nominees are selected by a panel of experts, whilst winners are decided by the general public.

The Oyster 595: an "extremely smart" bluewater cruiser

Judges of the 2018 Bluewater Cruiser of the Year picked out the Oyster 595’s moulded-in bowsprit, twin rudders and flush deck as their favourite features, referring to our range of bluewater cruising yachts as ‘extremely smart’. They also pointed to her stability as a highlight, thanks to her 10 per cent deeper keel and light hull weight.

The family-focused Oyster 595 sailing yacht was designed with luxury and exploration in mind. Fitting somewhere between the Oyster 565 and the Oyster 675, the model is an outstanding example of a sub 60ft cruiser, incorporating many features that are often only seen on larger vessels.

She has the same internal headroom as provided on the Oyster 1225, which is more than double her length. However, she can also be handled by just two people, which makes her the perfect yacht for anything from a romantic escape to a large family vacation. With so many incredible attributes, we are thrilled that the Oyster 595 has been recognised by the British Yachting Awards.

When will the winner of 2018 Blue Water Cruiser of the Year be announced?

Whether the Oyster 595 is chosen as the 2018 Blue Water Cruiser of the Year will be revealed in December, when award winners will be presented with a British Sailing Awards trophy at a ceremony at the Royal Thames Yacht Club.

Last year, our Oyster 565 won Sailing Today’s Best Luxury Cruiser, whilst former CEO David Tydeman was granted the magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award. We are hoping for an equally victorious end to 2018.
