If so, we have a great opportunity for a highly experienced Guardienage Captain to join our Brokerage team in Ipswich.

The Contract:


Full time – 40 hours per week

Primary Location: Oyster Yachts Ipswich

The Role:

To manage a Yacht Guardienage service in support of the Brokerage Yacht Storage and Care Programme for clients and brokers

Main Responsibilities:

  • To act as a single point of contact for the brokerage Yacht Storage and Care Programme for clients and brokers
  • Manage the maintenance of the OBL Ipswich fleet as per the Yacht Storage and Care Programme
  • Manage contractors as required
  • Create a friendly, approachable and professional service in keeping with the Oyster Brand
  • Help OBL with test sails and sea trials – assist in any handover as required ( including deliveries )
  • Communicate new promotions for clients such as pre survey checks and antifouling
  • Report back to clients on a regular basis regarding the care of their yachts
  • Work under the company’s Health and Safety rules and regulations, respecting the Company policy in aiming for a very high standard
  • To work closely with other departments within the company and providing feedback on any client communication – always mindful of passing on opportunities to other departments
  • To work at boat shows as required
  • To be hard working, truthful and conscientious at all times
  • To be a valued member of the Oyster Brokerage team and undertake any other duties that may assist the department, Oyster Marine or the Oyster Group

  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to manage and plan multiple activities effectively
  • Self motivated with ability to manage a subcontracted team effectively and professionally
  • Ability to travel and work outside of normal working hours to get the job done
  • Yacht Master qualified
  • Good computer skills such as MS word and Excel
  • Good communication skills with clients, suppliers, extended team and staff


  •  A thorough technical understanding of yacht systems with a solid background in yacht maintenance
