Assistant Management Accountant

 The Role:

To support the Management Accountant in the smooth running of the department.  Focussing on the production and integrity of the monthly management accounts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation and re-allocation of monthly boat expenditure
  • WIP / Rev recognition adjustment journals
  • Reconciliation and re-allocation of ‘Other Productive Costs’
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Materials cost estimates for each boat in build
  • Materials cost variance analysis and investigation
  • Weekly reporting: Boat build progress to target, hours/cost variances etc.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Tables etc.)
  • Ability to interpret and report on key data
  • Confidence and diplomacy to challenge inaccurate data
  • Good Organisation and prioritisation skills

Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Part CIMA / ACCA qualification (Study support provided)

Personal Characteristics

  • Positive attitude.
  • Willingness to act as a team player to overcome ad hoc challenges is a must have.
  • The desire to take ownership and responsibility for tasks with a view to making improvements along the way.
  • Ability to explain financial reports to non-financial colleagues.

Other Requirements

  • There may be rare occasions where inter-site travel would be required.
