OVERVIEW
With growing disillusionment with the IOR, Oyster commissioned Carl Schumacher to design a light displacement high performance one-design racer/cruiser. Thirty-one were launched between 1988 and 1990.
Exciting to sail, yet safe and simple, the 395 has a masthead rig, which is easy to handle while family sailing. Examples went to race under the CHS and have competed well as shorthanded racers, but the majority are now used for fast cruising.
